Howdy, We're Steve & Meghan
Welcome to our home: Some Tuesday Ranch!
That cowboy and cowgirl are Meghan and me. We've been doing life together since 2018. Running a fashion business. Sailing the world. She's the boots to my spurs.

Captain Steve
a Virginia boy who found the water
I grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia, where my grandfather was a Colonial Williamsburg historian. Summers were on North Carolina's Outer Banks, and I learned to sail in Annapolis. I earned my Eagle Scout badge at 14, and in high school I drove a '58 Plymouth. Nobody else had tail fins! :-)

Then I spent more than 30 years as a "financial guy" in fintech and wealth management, mostly landlocked. When I moved to California in 2013, I made up for lost time with sailing lessons and racing. In 2018 our Lagoon 450S was delivered, and my son Hank suggested her name, Some Tuesday, a tribute to an old family story.
2018 turned out to be quite a year. I sold out of fintech, and I met Meghan.
My favorite job title is still Dad. Hank lives in Dallas and works in eCommerce and apparel. Carter lives in Los Angeles, studies auto and diesel mechanics and makes music. I'm proud of them both.

First Mate Meg
born with a needle in her hand

Meghan grew up in Orange County, California. Her mom taught her to sew at four, and a CFDA internship later put her backstage for three seasons of New York shows: Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Versace.
In her mid-twenties she lost the right to use her own name commercially. Meghan sat on a beach beading Grateful Dead T-shirts into dresses, and when a friend told her to just change her name, she picked one that fit: Meghan Fabulous. In December 2004, Paris Hilton wore her Grateful Dead dress to VH1's Big in '04 Awards to accept the award for her catchphrase, "That's hot!", and Meghan's phone started ringing off the hook.
Sharon Stone, Shakira, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton and numerous other celebrities wore her designs. Her work ran in Vogue Japan, Elle and Harper's Bazaar. She had a boutique inside Harrods in London, sold in over 30 countries and lived in China for eight years running apparel production. She calls what she makes "wearable art," and if everybody in the room is doing one thing, Meghan will definitely NOT be doing it.
"Fashion should be fun! We're not saving babies or solving world hunger!" - Meghan
Grateful Dead Fabulous
the line we built on a lifelong love
We both love the Grateful Dead. I heard the Dead on a buddy's boom box my freshman year at William & Mary in 1985 and didn't get it - until "Franklin's Tower" came on. After I saw them live at Hampton Coliseum, I never looked back. Meghan came at it from the other direction: the art got her first, but the music didn't click. So when she told me her favorite song was "Touch of Grey," I appointed myself tour guide. One of our first dates was Dead & Company at Dodger Stadium in July 2018, and my full immersion course was off and running!
We'd talked for years about a clothing line built on that shared love. Meghan had been reworking vintage Dead tees for years and was full of ideas. After dozens and dozens of blind emails to Warner Music, we pitched them in May 2021, and that year we got the license to make officially branded Grateful Dead fashion. Meghan designed it, and I built the business around it. Then came COVID snafus at the factory and nearly two years of waiting. Bless our hearts....
Grateful Dead Fabulous finally launched in 2023. Warner had been hearing from women for years: the guys have their t-shirts and hoodies, so where's something for us? Better women's boutiques across the country wrote wholesale pre-orders before it ever hit the stores. By the second collection in 2024, Meghan was making rhinestone stealies, sequin crossbody bags and a print covered in backstage passes from the 1960s to the 1990s.
When we saw Dead & Company in Philadelphia in 2023, it seemed like just about every one of the prettiest Deadheads in the crowd was wearing Meghan's art. The next summer we moved to Vegas while Dead & Company played the Sphere, and we couldn't walk 20 feet in the prototypes without somebody asking where to get them. Every time we spotted a woman wearing Meghan's designs, we stopped to chat and take a photo. It was the most satisfying work either of us has ever done.

Then we closed it all down and went sailing
A fellow sailor at Catalina's Buccaneer Days once told us, "Set a date and make it happen, or you'll still be dreaming in a decade." So we set one. In 2025 we closed Meghan Fabulous on our own terms, and on December 3, 2025, we left Los Angeles aboard SV Some Tuesday with our two pugs, Mr. Pickles and Colonel Mustard, on a five-year circumnavigation.

We spent seven years building Meghan's dream. Now she's living mine. She sails as First Mate Meg and makes beautiful things again, just for the joy of it. Her newer work is on @meghan_fabulous, and a new meghanfabulous.com is on the way.
How we got the ranch
When Meghan and I were house hunting in Pahrump, we needed a place to stay, and we found Alicia's perfectly adorable Falcon Cottage on Booking.com. We booked a couple of nights.
After a long day of looking at something like 12 properties, we pulled into her driveway and around back to the cottage. It sits right behind her house and shares the pool. I pulled my Jeep up in front, and the place was SO cute that I jumped out to unlock the door and take a look. I got inside and yelled, "Meghan, it's great! You're going to love it!"
Meghan yelled back, "Steve!!!"
You know the tone. The one that CANNOT be ignored. Something was very wrong.
I ran back outside to find my Jeep slowly creeping toward the cottage. Now, this is no ordinary Jeep. She's a full-kit off-road beast - lifted 5 inches, 37" tires, upgraded suspension, steel bumpers, a winch, the works. She is HEAVY.
I ran around to the driver's door and desperately tried to jump in and stop her. I failed. All I could do was watch as she rolled, slowly but with an awful lot of mass behind her, right into one of the 4x4 posts holding up the porch roof. It snapped like a dry matchstick.
I've been driving for over 40 years, and as far as I can remember, that's the only time I've ever gotten out of a car without putting it in park. I guess 12 properties in one day will do that to a fella!
I called Alicia right away and got her voicemail. I told her exactly what happened, that it was 100% my fault, and that I'd take full responsibility and make it right. I also told her I was heading to Home Depot right then for a new 4x4 to prop up the roof so the damage wouldn't get any worse. Until I got back, a folding table and a pile of rocks held up that porch.
When Alicia called back, she was as relaxed as an old hound dog on a shady porch. She chuckled and said, "Hey, I have young sons. This is nothing!"
Being honest, and her taking it so easy, turned into a friendship. She told us she'd spent years in the hospitality industry, ran her own short-term rental, and was writing a book about how to run one.
Meghan and I gave each other a knowing glance.
"Alicia, I've got an idea to bounce off you," I said. "I think God did something good, bringing us together today."
The rest is history. The partnership is fantastic. She's not just our property manager, she's a friend. And she truly is the best damn property manager around!!
